- Seed Starting Kits and Seed Starting Supplies
- Gardening Tool Gifts
- Food Preservation Gifts

- Garden Clothes for Women

- Garden Books
Seed Starting Kits and Seed Starting Supplies:
Having the right equipment when seed starting makes the entire process a lot more enjoyable! If you have a gardener in your life who does a lot of gardening and starts plants indoors, check out these gift ideas.
This bundle is the perfect gift for a gardener friend or family member who loves to start their plants from seeds. The seed starting kit includes seed starting pots of varying sizes, seed starting trays, and humidity domes. Bootstrap Farmer sells high quality seed starting equipment that exceeds anything you’ll find in a big box store. The plastic is thick and durable - making the trays easy to handle and store.
Many gardeners start their seeds in smaller 6-cell containers and then repot their plants in larger pots similar to these 3.3” pots as the plants grow. The humidity domes are great for germination because they keep the soil moist! 1020 trays are great for setting the 6-cell and 3.3” pot containers in for transporting and watering.
Price at time of publish: $167.99
A heat mat for seed starting is a great gift for the seasoned gardener in your life who starts their plants from seeds. Seedling heat mats speed up the germination process and can also help with overall germination rates. The heat mat is easy to clean, waterproof, and is perfectly sized to sit underneath a 1020 tray that will hold the plants. This is a great gift because some growers don’t invest in a heat mat for plants when they are just getting started - this is likely on their “wish list.”
Price at time of publish: $28.99
If the gardener you're shopping for loves seed starting indoors, these clear 2.5” pots are a really fun gift! Most containers sold in big box stores are black and you can’t see the root growth of the plants. These clear pots allow you to see the root growth which can give the gardener insight on the health of the plant. These seed starting containers are reusable, USA-made, and BPA-free.
Price at time of publish: 80 Pots for $31.99
Seed Starting Grow Lights
Seed starting lights are critical for growing plants indoors. Without proper lighting, plants may not survive or may become weak and fragile. Above I have listed two different options for light for seedlings. This is dependent on the growers set-up and how many plants they are starting from seed. If the gardener you’re buying for has a pretty large set-up, you’ll likely want to opt for the 4 foot lights. If they are just getting started, the clip-on or tripod light would be perfect.
I personally started with the smaller light and used that for 2 years before purchasing the larger lights! Now that I have the large lights I would never go back but it just depends on the level of experience and interest of the gardener you’re buying for.
Price at time of publish: 4 Foot Lights - $99.89, Clip-On Lights - $17.93

Gardeners use their tools often so having durable, effective tools is really important. Here are some great options for multiple gift budgets! You could also make a little gift basket with a variety of tools and other items.
Every gardener needs a quality pair of pruning shears and I cannot recommend these Fiskars Pruning Shears enough! The pruning shears are high quality and durable. I have had my Fiskars pruning shears for over 3 years now and they are still in great shape. These are easy to operate, ergonomic, and store well! Hauling around compost, garden soil, mulch, potted plants, and large harvests can be tiring! A typical wheelbarrow isn’t necessarily built for hauling which makes this Gorilla cart ideal for gardening tasks. Not only can you haul around heavy items but the car also has a dumping feature. The handle on the cart can be removed so that it can be hooked to a tractor, ATV, or other vehicle for easy transport.

Gardeners spend a lot of time kneeling while planting, weeding, mulching and harvesting. A kneeling cushion is a must-have and is one of my most used tools. This is a simple but effective tool that makes every day gardening more enjoyable!

Depending on how much food the gardener in your life grows, they may spend a lot of time harvesting and preserving food. Here are some great gift ideas for the grower who loves preserving the harvest.

Water bath canning is a great way to preserve harvests and make jams. This kit includes almost everything a gardener would need to get started (excluding jars and lids). Water bath canning involves submerging sealed jars in boiling water for a specific period of time, effectively killing bacteria, yeasts, and molds, and creating a vacuum seal in the process!

New canning lids should be used during each canning process. This ensures a proper seal is made, preventing spoilage. If you decide to gift canning lids, it’s important to know that they come in two different sizes: regular mouth and wide mouth. This refers to the width of the top of the jar. If you’re thinking about gifting lids, take note what kind of jars the gardener uses most!

When planning a garden, the perfect time to start seeds and transplant seedlings outdoors is dependent on the plant variety.
